Haryana Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya described
Kurukshetra as a spiritual, religious and educational
centre and said that people considered themselves
blessed by applying the dust of this great land on their
forehead. He said that Kurukshetra was famous as Tapo-sthali, Karma-bhoomi and Yag-bhoomi of saints and gurus. He said the Gita gave the message of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. This is a philosophy of Nishkam Karma. The Governor said that the divine message of the Bhagwad Gita, was still relevant today. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, also adopted the principles of the Bhagwad Gitai> and launched various schemes for the welfare of people and society. Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal said the state government was d e v e l o p i n g Kurukshetra as a magnificent and divine city with the aim to make it the cultural capital of the state. Election Commissioner of India(CEC), an
alumnus of Panjab University, while
inaugurating the Annual Global Alumni
Meet organised by the PU Alumni
Association(PUAA) in Chandigarh on
November 28. Shedding light on the
transition of Panjab University from
Lahore to the present location at
Chandigarh, he shared his personal and
professional links to the different
institutes of PU. Surajkund melaKanwar Pal Haryana Tourism Minister Kanwar Pal said that in the forthcoming Surajkund International Crafts Mela, Uzbekistan will be the partnernation. He said that every year the mela was held from February 1 to 17 and the dates would be the same in 2020, too. This time Himachal Pradesh would participate as a theme-state. |
