“Congress misleading people”V.P. Prabhakar
Manohar Lal Khattar
Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal said that the
Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National
Population Register (NPR) and National Register of
Citizens (NRC) are in the interest of the country.
Addressing a press conference, he said
that the Congress Party is misleading
the people on these issues by staging
protest in the country. He said that the Central Government is committed to protect the linguistic, cultural and social interests of the North Eastern states. The provisions for amendment of the law would not apply to the tribal areas of Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram or Tripura. Referring to the National Population Register, he said that the opposition is spreading false information about NPR. We all know that census takes place after 10 years in the country. At the time of census, various information is collected to know the economic, social, educational status of all the families. These are private information and are recorded in the National Population Register. This information is never made public. This information is used in the formulation of policies and implementation of public welfare schemes and programs. He said that opposition parties are also doing vote bank politics on the National Register of Citizens (NRC). If we do not implement NRC in India and do not issue national identity card to the citizens, the entry of intruders would become easier.
