VOICE FROM LONDON

"Pakistan must withdraw from PoK"

RC Ganjoo

A new voice for the resolution of Kashmir problem is being raised by the Kashmir Valley Diaspora in UK from newly formed Kashmir Voice International (KVI). The aim of KVI is to reach out to the politicians in India and Pakistan, people of the Valley, the real sufferers, and political figures in both parts of Kashmir, and raise the voice of Kashmiris internationally.

Javid Kakroo On Jan 22 in London, KVI Chairman Prof. Mohd. Abdullaha Raina, addressing the media for first time, said that Kashmir is a political problem and can be solved either by ascertaining the will of people through a referendum or through peaceful negotiations between the parties.
The group of Kashmir Valley Diaspora in UK has its active office bearer Chairman Prof. Mohd. Abdullaha Raina, Vice Chairman Advocate Irshad Mailk, Secretary Javid Kakroo with six other executive members namely, Gulam Nabi Falahi, Syed Abdullah Sherazi, Adv. Mohommad Saleem, Abdual Majid Banday, Ulfat Hussain Zarger and Prof. Shahid Iqbal.
Secretary of the Kashmir Voice International Javid Kakroo, answering a question said " for the last 70 years the UN resolutions have not been implemented. Also UN resolutions are recommendatory not mandatory. Pakistan has to withdraw all its forces from Kashmir in order to get the UN resolutions implemented and Pakistan since 1947 has never given any indication of doing that."

Kashmir Voice's press conference in London "The rounds of dialogue between two countries have achieved nothing because neither country is willing to move from its stated position. Their inflexible approach to the problem has caused Kashmiris to suffer-now three generations. The trust deficit, suspicion and hatred in some sections of the population of two neighbouring countries have resulted, unfortunately, in great suffering to people of Kashmir" " explained Prof. Mohd. Abdullaha Raina.
According to them, "the gun culture has promoted terrorism and defamed the freedom movement. Our organisation would like to urge that guns should silence from all sides and movement be allowed to continue violence free."
KVI has decided to work in India and Pakistan to build public opinion for a solution acceptable to people of Kashmir besides to form a group in the UK comprising Indians, Pakistanis and Kashmiris, use its services and seek its support to change perceptions and build a favourable environment in both India and Pakistan for Kashmir solution.
According to Kakroo , "POK leaders have no idea of Kashmir they have their own agenda . We the people from Valley are smart enough to plead our own case, and we will not allow anyone to use us for their own interests.
KVI will raise issues of human rights violations in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), including Gilgit & Baltistan with the Pakistan High Commission in London.
In an interview to Power Politics, Javid Kakroo said, "KVI will play a bridging role in order to address all important issues and a detailed deliberation on these would be taken on a separate occasion."
