Abdul Hamid Khan, chairman of the Balawaristan National Front (BNF), fled Pakistan in May 1999 and took political asylum in Brussels. He was under threat from ISI. In his letter to UN and Security Council members on October 4, 1998, he had exposed ISI intrigues with the Taliban to invade Balawaristan and then Jammu and Kashmir.
